Making Pillowcases and Kiki

Nic stayed with us while his mom and dad went on a business trip to Florida.  Though he is fun to have here, it disrupts our routine.  But that's OK.  I have vowed though that I am going to focus on machine sewing.  When we went to Joann's, Nic asked me to buy this fabric because he LOVES dinosaurs.  I didn't know that.  The last time he was here it was Captain America.
When Corey came home from vacation last summer, he gave us Harley, the Min Pin they got at a rescue south of Chicago.  His wife wanted another small dog and they found the perfect pooch at the Elkhart County Humane Society.  This is 6'4" Corey and 6" tall Kiki taking Nic Trick or Treating.  Kiki is a Chihuahua Pomeranian mix.  She is 5 years old, the same age as Tyson.  The two dogs get along great.  Kiki selected Corey as his person.  From the first minute she saw him she attached herself to him.  She is always on his lap, at his heels when he walks or in his arms.  They love each other and it's really cute to see the Gentle Giant and the tiniest pooch I have ever seen be great friends.

Grateful:  Today I am grateful that Corey found Kiki who has fit in so well with his family.  But I feel bad for the person who had to give Kiki up.  It's very apparent that she was well cared for and very loved.

Kids change so fast from on fad to another. It is weird that some dogs select an alpha person as a best friend. I've even seen dogs that belong to others follow another person around.

It sounds like Nic enjoyed your fabric shopping and the dinosaurs are a fun choice. That's wonderful. My (now grown up) children claim to be permanently scarred by hours spent in fabric shops during their formative years! And it's great that Kiki has found a new loving home :)

Nic sure is a cutie, and I know he will love that big pillow! What a sweet little Kiki. He is very tiny in the arms of that 6'4" nice looking son of your's. That is your son???

How adorable, Kiki! My husband would like a dog, but not a small one. That’s the only kind I could do, after decades of raising many others. Also, we have two beloved kitties, think we will stop there. Happy Thanksgiving!

That was sweet of you to make a dinosaur pillowcase for Nic! And great pix of the boys and their dogs. But no one can say that those pets and their owners look alike!! 😂

Nice pillow, what's not to like where dinosaurs are concerned. Your 6'4" and 6" comment made me smile. The dog definitely looks like she has fallen on her feet!

Oh what a great story! Kudos for rescuing the pup. I love it when animals choose people as their great loves. Bessie our cat just adores my husband and rides around on his neck like a fur stole....LOL I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Kit

Hi Carol, funny but my little grandson just switched to dinosaurs from super heroes too. Right out of the blue. That fabric is great.
Both our dogs are rescues and that is all Hubby has had his whole life. They have meant so much to him, gotten him through bad times, I gave him a mug that said, "who rescued who?"
It is so perfect that Kiki found your son and yes wouldn't it be nice if former owner could know he has had a soft landing. Rex came from a garage where he failed as the guard dog but Murphy came from a family who had to give her up and we were able to contact and let them know she is with us.

My sisters make pillow cases for their families, themed for the time of year or a holiday. I've yet to make one, really need to give it a try! So happy for the rescued dog, they are the best; we have 3 rescues right now.

Dinosaur pillow what a grand idea and obviously Nic loves it as much as Kiki adores Cory. Happy family all around.

What fun that Nic requested you make him something special. Our 'grands' are a little to young to be making their own requests as yet, but their parents ask on their behalf. I made the Paw Patrol sweater for Theo for Christmas and am living in fear that it's going to be too small by the time he gets it!
