The Pond Is A Place To Meditate

The pond has always been a place to go for a quiet moment.

I look out the window and lots of times someone is sitting on the bench.

Sometimes its Terry and Corey, sharing a quiet moment after school.

Some times its Terry and Kyle.  The Indian stands watch.
Laurie spends time there too.  She bought the bench set for her Dad.  Its a rather rustic type pond and the bench and chair are perfect.

So peaceful - I can hear the birds.....what is it about water (and fire) that induces one to sit and contemplate? Magic.

I just love the pictures of Grandpa and the boys. They're meditating, but they're making great memories, too! :-)

How sweet and thoughtful of Laurie to get the bench set for Terry. It adds a special touch to the garden - gives it a cozy feeling of "home".

This piece makes me think about how difficult being a teenager difficult Laurie's life can be...and how sometimes all we need is a place to call home (with a pond and a nice place to sit and think) and be surrounded by people who love us. We don't really even need to talk. Just their presence in our lives is enough. My hats off to you, dear Carol, for providing the home where it's safe for everyone to test their wings.

P.S. Having an Indian chief have your back is icing on the cake!

I think ponds are great places to meditate. It's a great little piece of nature and with your frogs and fish you've got life and movement. Good thought to put benches around it! I remember my dad's tiny pond. The dog I had at the time would stand in it all day hunting for the gold fish. My dad finally gave up on the fish as they all got eaten eventually. They had rocks to hide in but they would eventually come out as the dog could stand still for hours and then whoom, they were gone. We tried but couldn't break him of the habit.
