Another Block - CARD TRICK!!

I love this block!!  I like the fabric I chose.  I enjoyed learning how to piece it, though I needed to concentrate when stitching the pieces.

As each lesson becomes progressively more difficult, I "get" something in each one.  I think I especially learned the importance of squaring each pieced block before stitching the rows. Yes, I know I should have "got" that from the beginning, but sometimes it takes me a while.

I think the next lesson will be about paper piecing, though I have not had a chance to read through the instructions yet.

The most difficult thing for me in this learning process is selecting fabrics.  I am trying to use fabrics from my stash.

  1. Wow! Not only did you ace it, but also you love it! When you mentioned this block coming up, I shuddered. I had a terrible time with it once, just could not get it right, and my effort hit the trash. I have never tried it again. Yay for you! Oh, also, using stash fabrics makes it uniquely yours!

  2. Hi Carol,
Love your block and the fabric you chose for it. I used fabric I had to do each of my blocks and now wish I had used something different now. Oh well, it was a learning experience.
I thought that block as going to be very difficult and like you needed concentration. In the end it wasn't bad after all.
I have finished my blocks and enjoyed the class and learned alot from Kathy. I have a notebook full of everything she sent and can go back and read over things in the future.
Enjoy the rest of the blocks.

  4. Well, I'm certainly an outsider in the quilting world
but it looks to me as if you're a *natural* ...
I don't think you have anything to worry over
because following your instincts is not leading you astray!

  11. You have reason to be proud of this one - it's not the easiest to keep the colours going right (or at least that's what it looks like to me). Good for you!
