Do You Say Hey!...I Say Hey!!

I watch CBS new.  This morning on CBS This Morning they did a collage of  President Obama saying HEY during some speeches.

Don't you wonder how news shows think of what they will put in a show?  A little entertainment filler served along with the news.  Anyway, since I use HEY all the time, maybe I should google it just to be sure the meaning hadn't changed over the years.

Yup, Yey is still another way of saying Hi!  Even the Urban Dictionary says so.

So now you know, it's still OK to say HEY!!
Have a great weekend.

I never use it to say hi but I'll say "HEY" when I'm wondering what the heck is going on -- or "HEY" to get someone's attention when they're doing something wrong. My parents used to discourage the use of the word saying "hey is for horses".

I also tend to say hey. Glad to find out the meaning hasn't changed.

I say "Hey" on a regular basis. In fact, today I said "Hey Pat!" when a colleague walked into work today. He said "Hey" back. Now that I think about it though, I wish I would have said Hi, instead of Hey. hummmm.... deep thoughts.... I've been saying Hey instead of Hi for many years. I like saying Hey. But I'm trying to be professional too. It's a balance.

Haha! I actually never thought of that. I stopped watching any news shows years ago....it just got too depressing....but if they're adding some "fun"then maybe I need to have another look....

Hey, you! I use it all the time. So do most of the people I know. It is probably a regional thing, but if they say it on the news then it must be a large region. :)
