It's Almost Time!!

Time for what??  To decorate for Halloween!!

Lots of my blog friends are talking about Halloween. Most have started stitching and sewing for it.  Nope, I don't really pay much attention to the horoscope that is printed in our local paper.  But I DO believe that there is a lot about my personality that is described as a Libra.  There MUST be something to it because a WHOLE lot of my creative friends in all media are Libra.  I know lots of others who's personality fits their zodiac profile as well.

I watch my sign slowly creep to the top of the list on the daily horoscopes.  Mine is second right now.  As it creeps to the top, I am in preparation.  When it gets to the top...IT'S TIME!!  My green light to start getting out and sorting through the decor I will use this year.  Putting the finishing touches  on the projects I am creating for the season.  You CAN'T wait 'til the last minute you know!!

How about you?  When do You decorate for Halloween?

  1. I guess I should be ashamed to say that I don't decorate for Halloween (Easter either). I haven't since our kids were small. I think I'm most likely in a definite minority!

  2. First day of October! I might put out a few strictly Fall decorations before that but nothing truly 'witchy ' before that... A Libra huh? :) I'm a Cancer... Hugs! deb

  3. I like Halloween themes, but haven't really decorated for it since our kids have grown up. However, I'm sewing a mini-quilt for it this year since the group's theme for the month is Halloween. I'm having fun with it, will post on my blog when done.

  5. I just made a ghost from gauze, turned out quite cute! I'm doing other decorations, but more for fall. I'll get some clings for the door, Halloween and fall, for the nieces and nephews that come to visit for cookies and juice. I'll do a post soon, as soon as I get my door hanger done!!

  6. I have always (except growing up as a child) lived in an area that was too rural for halloween trick or treators. when we lived in Illinois we had friends with kids so I told them if they were going out to stop by as I would have homemade halloween cookies for them. I do always love to put out a few things outdoors though-I have ceramic and tin pumpkins I do it mostly for me lol

  7. Yes, I do! Soon I will bring out the witches from Lickety-Split to take their place. Of course my metal crows need to make an appearance. What fun this time of the year is.

  8. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I love the witchy day and night. My house is perfect for decorating and now I have a large porch to put even more scary decorations on. We don't get many kids here but I am always prepared with lots of candy.
PS. love your April fools joke about the deer. LOL

  9. I really never go all out decorating for any occasion or holiday. Halloween will be simple and I shall put out my favorite pumpkins and such sometime in the beginning of October. Happy Pre-Birthday...

  11. The first of October! Although some fall decoration that goes out earlier can be easily converted to Halloween. I love almost everything about fall, but Halloween is such fun!

  12. I try to decorate the first of October, some years it may be 2 weeks into the month. Yesterday, my son and I went to a local garden store and they had pumpkins (huge ones) for $1.99, hay bales, corn stalks, etc. I was so tempted to buy them and deck out the front porch. I may have to go see what they have left at the end of the month. ;)

  13. Gosh, fancy decorating for Halloween, it is hardly celebrated here in Spain at all, although the authorities are trying and the kids at school are starting to dress up.
