Another Year Gone By--Now It's 44!!

I love this couple.  I see so much of Terry and I in the humor of the author Brian Crane.  Even before Terry was not able to travel too far away from home, we never went on vacation.  Over the years we have talked about going, but finances and the dogs have always kept us close to home.  Well, the dogs might be an excuse, but finances certainly aren't.  And now the older we get, the harder it is to leave the house without a good reason!

Our story is that we met on a blind date on February 5th, got engaged two weeks later and married on August 7th that same year.  Terry never forgets our anniversary...not once. We have had very few rough patches.  In the beginning we were a perfect example of Opposites Attract but over the years we have blended into a pretty perfect match.  Thank you Terry for being the best husband anyone could ask for.  It's true, when they made you, they broke the mold.

  6. Heartfelt congratulations! I think the best marriages are the ones where - the longer it lasts the better it gets. That's me speaking with a 53rd wedding anniversary coming up *smile*.

  9. I add my congratulations to the list as well - 44 years is something to be proud of, particularly these days when marriage seems to be so disposable. Jack and I are approaching our 37th and it seems like just yesterday we were getting married. We never did vacation traveling either - mostly due to lack of funds for such. When the boys were in their early teens we decided we should take them away for a few days and headed off to Niagara Falls. We were sure they would be blown away by the falls and places like the wax museum and the Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Nope. Total flop. The only thing they liked was going mini golfing and THAT we could have done a mile from home (and a whole lot cheaper too!!). Now we travel a bit more, but that's only so we can see our #2 son and d-i-l now that they live so far away.
