Assignment #2 - Piece and Hoop

Beginner Crazy Quilt Class
       Assignment #2

The class includes piecing a planned block.  The colors are neutral and mine are actually pretty light but the picture on my monitor is a lot darker than what the fabrics actually are.  I chose 4 fabrics and sorted them as light, medium light, medium, and dark.
I tried to follow Kathy's instructions for placing the pieces so the block is balanced.  There is a lot to learn in this craft.  I think a stitcher can take it as far as they want to.  I have never liked lace and ribbon too much, but I absolutely love fabric embellished by embroidery.

  1. I think you've done a good job for your first CQ piece. I've never tried it, it's intimidating to me. I love the artform though.

Pretty soon you'll be a pro at this. I think your fabrics are lovely.

    Happy creating ~ FlowerLady

  2. Carol, this looks great! I never got the hang of creating a cq block around the center piece. Taking a class is the answer. You go girl, and keep us informed!

  8. I've never done any sewing but my aunt is a talented seamstress and I love the stuff she creates. I would like to make a quilt some day. My grandmother made one once during the long winter Indiana evenings.

The block you made looks lovely!

  10. You are doing wonderfully. Hand stitching is so beautiful and if you get the hang of it, as you certainly have, you will be creating some beautiful items. Can't wait to see.
Sorry about your husband. I know just what he is talking about. Our best days still suck. LOL
