Take Time...

"TIME IS THE COIN OF YOUR LIFE.
IT IS THE ONLY COIN YOU HAVE,
AND ONLY YOU CAN DETERMINE HOW IT WILL BE SPENT.
BE CAREFUL LEST YOU LET OTHER PEOPLE SPEND IT FOR YOU."
~Carl Sandburg
1878 - 1967

Carl Sandburg has always been one of my favorite poets. When I came across this quote, it reminded me not to feel guilty about time I spend doing what I want instead of what someone else thinks I should be doing.

If you have a hard time steeling "me" time, remember what Carl Sandburg said.

  2. Hi Carol.
It is nice to meet you and I thank you for your visit to my blog to talk about our beautiful moon.
How I wish I could steal some "me" time - I could sure use a big chunk of it. I have always liked that Sandburg quote - it has been on my sidebar for some time.
I spent some time looking at your blogs. You are a very talented beader, Carol, and you make some beautiful items. Your cuffs are gorgeous. I have many many beads and I'm still waiting for that chunk of time to use them in some way!
I assume Terry is your better half. My husband's name is Terry, too. (: A good name for good men.
Happy Spring, Carol. I'll be back to visit soon.

  4. Hi Carol!
I've been stealing as much time as possible lately. It is essential to my well-being and my demeanor. I don't bite as often when I am well nurtured...Two massages and a yoga class today!!!!
    I am grateful.
    Love the new pink font!!!

  6. Hi Carol! Hope all is good with you.Happy Spring to you. That is a great quote and a reminder. I didn't know that Carl Sandburg lived to such a ripe old age. Thanks for the quote,I will remember that when I want "ME" time I will take the "ME" time. Thanks, have a great week.

  7. Good quote. Women more than men, let their time be taken and spent for them. My husband being home 24/7 is good at expecting me to be by his side at any whim of his and I've let him do it. It keeps me from getting deeply involved in a project so I've been doing little things or bits of things that I can drop "right now" if he says to come look at this or help me with this. But, I am not happy with this and I am beginning to say wait, I'm busy, I'll get there as soon as I can instead. He/you are right. We only get so much time; we have to find a way to use it to our happiness best we can.

  9. Very wise words from Mr. Sandburg...

It's interesting that we all know to be sure and save some of our money. Why is it that we often forget to save some of our time?

    Thanks for the reminder, Carol!

    xoxo :-)
