Here is a Challenge!

I have a good friend who lives in Southern California. On my way to work today, I was wondering what scenery Deb sees on her drive to work. I have not traveled much, so I don't know much about other areas of the country except I am excellent at Geography! So I have decided to take my camera with me this weekend wherever I go and snap pics around the area I live. I want to give Deb an idea of the lay of the land when I talk to her about what I am doing. BTW, we talk EVERY day and I am addicted to those conversations.

So, the Challenge is for anyone interested, take a few shots of what YOU see everyday so we can place you in the setting where you live. This will be interesting. I promise.

  1. What a great idea Carol! I will have to grab my camera and see what I can find that will make a good subject matter. I think you get so used to seeing the same old things everyday, you forget how other people may see them. Wisconsin is so pretty this time of year, although most of the trees are bare now. I try to get some fall shots every year, but not this year. Too much going on!

  2. Love this idea. We are experiencing some rather dreary rainy weather, so as soon as it breaks, I'll be snapping away.

  4. After posting this, I was a little worried that some would be critical because they would not want to divulge too much about where exactly they live. I thought of that also. My thought is that most of us have listed somewhere on the web what town we live in or the general area. If you are concerned, you may want to be sure not to include road signs near your home. Just a thought.

  5. What a great idea Carol... I will have to take pics of my beautiful mountains that I look at everyday on the way to work... it has been so clear everyday this week you could touch them... I understand that there are fires in Santa Barbara, asking prayers for those people and their homes, families and animals. Great Friday everyone...!

    Love, Deb

  6. It is great to hear that other friends are thinking this way. My close friend in Santa Barbara-where I am from-suggested that we take candid photographs of our daily lives for a week or to so that we can share the visual side of the many things that we talk about often. She said she wanted to see things like-my car, where I work, my house, my art, my favorite places, my bike...It really is a fun idea for adding a new dimension to our lives that we share with others. Thanks! I'll let you know what transpires...

  7. Well, I just took a photo of the moon going over the mountain in the morning. I can do this. I'll swing back to let you know when they are up.

  10. What a great idea Carol! Hmm, since I work from home, the pics will be from my bedroom to the the coffee pot. From the coffee pot to the couch, then to the studio... ;)

However, I can take some photos of the surrounding area where I live, like the mountains around us and our beautiful Arizona sunset!

  11. Hi there - sorry it's taken a while, but I've finally got round to writing up my 7 things after you kindly tagged me.

It's appropriate to this post too - cos I've posted a picture of a tree outside my back garden, so you get an idea of where I live. (It's a eucalyptus tree - so a bit far from its native home of Australia!!)

  12. I finally got pictures to load and answered your challenge. It was kind of anti-climatic as I tried for so long to get the pictures uploaded. Did include two pics of the shuttle launch from last Friday.
